How Flo-Detector Works
Dual-axis sensing removes sensor orientation from the measurement.

Measure X & Y
Calculate the Resultant
Measure With Confidence
Four stainless-steel electrodes contact the water surface while the dual-axis electromagnetic sensor simultaneously measures X and Y velocity components.
Flo-Detector combines the two velocity components using √(X² + Y²) to determine the resultant forward velocity.
Because velocity is calculated from both axes, accurate forward velocity can be obtained regardless of the sensor’s radial orientation in the flow.

Where Flo-Detector Is Used
Fast, portable velocity measurement for challenging field applications.
